NSW:Magistrate to decide on Monday if Guider will face trial
A magistrate will decide on Monday whether the man accused of murdering Sydney schoolgirlSAMANTHA KNIGHT should face trial.
Confessed paedophile MICHAEL ANTHONY GUIDER, aged 51, is charged with murdering thenine-year-old who disappeared from a Bondi street in Sydney's east on August 19 1986.
Her body has never been found.
Today Magistrate JANET WAHLQUIST reserved her decision on whether to commit GUIDERfor trial after hearing subsmissions from prosecution and defence lawyers following atwo-week committal hearing in Sydney's Central Local court.
The prosecution alleges GUIDER confessed to fellow jail inmates Samantha died afterhe accidentally gave her an overdose of Normison -- a sleeping drug he used to stupifychildren -- so he could take indecent photos and sexually abuse them.
GUIDER has denied making any confessions, and denied having anything to do with SAMANTHA'S death.
